On a Back of an Envelope. The system acronym for the On a Back of an Envelope glossary. Every IT system or project worth its salt needs a handy acronym or project name and in the spirit of these things some pretty tenuous reasons why the name is relevant. So in that vein:
- Oboes are used to provide a Concert A for orchestras to tune their instruments to a common pitch. The OBOE glossary will provide a unifying and clear understanding of project management terms.
- OBOE was a direction finding system used by the Allies during WW2. Using one beam for direction and another for distance it enabled the precision location of targets. The aim of OBOE is to provide sure guidance and not as scurrilous Brexiteers might have it, another opportunity to wreak havoc on Western Europe.
