Highlight Report – In Prince2 this is a report on the stage process prepared regularly by the Project Manager for the Project Board. In everyday project management this is a regular update prepared by the Project Manager giving the status of the project. It will normally report on progress (or lack of it), budget spend, the top significant risks and issues and what is forecast to be attempted or completed in the next reporting period. Often it will contain a ‘Lowlights’ section which can be used to document things that have not gone so well and need to be brought to the attention of management. This can be an important document for project managers to communicate things they consider important and want to bring to the attention of their superiors.
